Some people are peculiar. They have gifts that mean they can do things you or I could only dream of. Jacob’s grandfather used to tell him tales all about the peculiar people he’d met on his travels, but are they more than just bedtime stories?
Miss Peregrine’s Home of Peculiar Children is captivating, interesting and well, a little peculiar. Directed by Tim Burton, it has the darkness that you’ve come to expect so maybe not one for the youngsters. The special effects are stunning and I was intrigued by the world they portrayed.
I wasn’t quite sure what to expect with this film, having not read the book, but I think that might be the best way to approach it. That way, you get to go on the journey of discovery with the main character.
Highly recommended but probably not for under 10s.
